Week of January 13-17!

January 17, 2020
Happy Friday!

This week we completed our Force & Motion unit through exploring magnets.  The students discovered that magnets have a north and a south pole and we investigated what would ”attract” or “repel” a magnet and why. The students worked together to sort materials that were magnetic and materials that were not magnetic.

On Thursday, we participated in Alphabet Day! We reviewed the letter sounds the students are learning at their home schools and learned a song that reviewed digraphs. We played a Who Has alphabet listening game, read the story LMNO Peas, by Keith Baker, and played Alphabet Bingo!

Lastly, we had fun listening to Ezra Jack Keats famous story, The Snowy Day, before the snow filled weekend arrived!  We discussed what we see when it snows and shared what activities we enjoy on a snowy day! The students created their own snow using glue and shaving cream to create an illustration from the story.

Reminder - NO SHOOL MONDAY, 1/20.
Have a great weekend! Stay Warm!
